The Administration Division provides administrative work for the Department. This division handles the Department's budget, personnel, billing, accounting, fees, and hearing support for various hearing bodies. The division also provides hardware and software support and mapping services.
The Building and Safety Division administers and enforces State and County building, grading, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical codes by issuing building permits, inspecting ongoing construction projects, and investigating building complaints.
The Development Review Division reviews private development projects for consistency with State and local planning laws, ordinances, and comprehensive plan policies.
The Energy, Minerals and Compliance Division oversees oil and gas activities offshore Santa Barbara County, the onshore facilities that support those offshore operations, onshore oil and gas development, surface mining, and renewable energy projects.
