Executive and Administrative Team
The County Executive and Administrative Office includes the County Executive Officer, Mona Miyasato, Assistant County Executive Officers, and Administrative staff. Santa Barbara County’s executive and administrative team is committed to creating a county government that embodies our core values as well as achieving the County’s overall mission, goals, and objectives. Through effective leadership and management, executive office staff administers the laws of the state and ordinances and policies of the elected Board of Supervisors, in the highest traditions of civic professionalism and competency.

Budget & Research
The Budget and Research Division assist assigned departments on fiscal and policy issues and are responsible for the development of the annual recommended budget, budget development policies, five-year forecasts, quarterly budget status reports and various other projects.

Cannabis Regulation & Licensing
The County Executive Office (CEO) Cannabis Division is responsible for upholding the regulations set forth by the Licensing of Cannabis Operations Ordinance (Chapter 50) of the Santa Barbara County Code of Ordinances, encouraging a well-regulated cannabis industry.

Clerk of the Board
The Clerk of the Board provides a range of services to the Public and County Staff. This Division of the County Executive Office provides administrative and clerical support for the Board of Supervisors, Assessment Appeals Boards, and Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO).

Communications Office / PIO
The Communications Office manages internal and external communications for the County Executive Office and assists with the communication efforts of the County's other agencies and departments.

Compliance and Accountability
The Compliance and Accountability Division is responsible for performing follow-up review, monitoring and assessment of corrective action plans prepared by departments in response to internal or external audit findings and recommendations and reports the status of the department’s remediation efforts to the Board of Supervisors on an annual basis.

The County government news channel provides access to issues of public interest through video broadcasting and production that informs, educates, and encourages community participation in local government.

Office of Emergency Management
The Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management (SBCOEM) is a division within the County Executive Office and is responsible for emergency management and coordination of the Santa Barbara Operational Area.

Risk Management ensures that the County's human, fiscal and capital assets are preserved and protected in an efficient and effective manner.
