Apply for a Marriage License
Marriage licenses are issued in-person (no appointment required) on a first-come, first-served basis.

Birth Certificate Copies
California Health and Safety Code Section 103526 permits only authorized persons to receive certified authorized copies of birth records.

Death Certificate Copies
Our office has death records from the current year back to 1850. Our records only include deaths that occurred in Santa Barbara County.

Divorce Record Copies
California Rules of Court provide the public with reasonable access to court records for viewing and copying.

File a Fictitious Business Name
Any person or entity who regularly transacts business, under a fictitious name, in the County of Santa Barbara is required to file a Fictitious Business Name Statement with the Clerk-Recorder within 40 days of first transacting business.
